Spa Spy Ayurvedic Consultation Review
I was recently visited for a review by a writer for the Good Spa Guide for an Ayurvedic consultation in my clinic in Norwich.
Click the link above to see how it went. After welcoming the Spa Spy into my treatment room in Norwich, I gave her an Ayurvedic consultation.
During the ayurvedic consultation, I established her state of balance and used tongue and pulse analysis to give me a full picture. From this I established which treatment she would most benefit from. In this case, I felt a restful and restorative Abhyanga Back Treatment with warm sesame oil was in order. This treatment really helps to counterbalance the effects of negative stress. It also helps to correct the effects of poor desk posture and long distance driving. Desk posture and driving are two keys factors that contribute to neck pain and lower back pain.
Ayurveda has so many different types of therapeutic treatments available, from Pinda Sweda (using hot poultices to release tension or nourish depleted tissues) to Sirodhara (pouring liquids or oils onto the forehead inducing a deep state of relaxation).
The techniques I used in the Back Treatment are connected to Amnanda and are done with a very gentle, healing touch. During the treatment I bring the body and mind of the client into a deeper state of relaxation. By doing so tension in tight musculature is readily released in response to the touch. Both the temperature of the oil and the silk paper really help the body to relax.
Through this treatment the posture is reset. I then give guidance post treatment on how to maintain your new better posture and prevent the immediate return of the tight muscles. Occasionally a couple of follow up sessions are required if the tension is really deep. For me, the range of Ayurvedic treatment options makes it so fantastic to work with.
