Anne has practised daily Yoga and Transcendental Meditation for the last twenty years. In her 20βs she lived for a short while in a Zen Buddhist centre in Japan daily living and practising a Zen way of life, which had a profound effect on her. During her internships in India while training to be an Ayurvedic Practitioner she practised a lot of Yoga and even learnt the ancient art of Agni Hotra.
In 2008 Anne trained as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher with the Amrit Nam Sarovar School and then did a further qualification to teach children too.Β Over the years her teaching style has evolved in response to her students and through Continual Professional Development courses that she has attended.Β She now focuses particularly on the power of the breath in being able to connect people to both their physical bodies and their spirituality through yoga.
Her classes are light hearted and fun, whilst having purpose and effect.Β After connecting with the breath Anne takes you through postures that are selected according to the moment, climate or classβ needs.Β By working with the postures and breath Anneβs aim is to help remove sluggishness from the body and encourage Wellness.
Anne encourages students to develop their practice in accordance with themselves and to be kind to themselves.Β At the same time though she encourages students to gently expand their individual capacities.Β She particularly focuses on increasing body awareness and developing balance on both sides of the body.
After some posture work she then guides students through simple but effective meditations and then closes the practice with some guided rest lying down.
Her classes are suitable for all abilities, whether you are new to yoga or been doing it for many years.
