AMNANDA MOKSHA THERAPIST TRAINING

WHAT IS MOKSHA?

Amnanda Moksha is developed from a Tibetan Ayurvedic lineage. It is a series of 6 therapeutic full body oil treatments that seek to address removing blockages. This then enables us to access more freedom in our lives. Moksha is a Sanskrit word that means freedom or liberation. A specific kind of loving touch therapy is used to help release the client from blocks and self-limiting behaviours. Our feeling of freedom is directly connected to our physical and emotional health. In Moksha we use touch to influence the metabolism through the mind body connection. When we are blocked our ability and freedom to make choices can become limited. This can restrict our personal freedom.

Moksha can be used for example to help people:

  • who have reached a cross roads in their lives
  • have a wish to make some sort of change but find they continually return to old patterns
  • who have difficulty in communication on different levels
  • who have a feeling they are stuck with their health, habits and/or purpose in life
In Moksha we combine a specific kind of touch, with a special oil in a particular setting. Through this a lot of different neurotransmitters, hormones and enzymes are released in the body such as dopamine, endorphins and oxytocin. This means that a different chemical balance is achieved in that moment and this influences our way of thinking and feeling. The boost to our metabolism influences the cells in our body and connections to our brain. The Goal of Moksha is to uncover a more authentic version of ourselves. One that has more self-esteem and self-determination.

TRAINING

The process of learning how to give Amnanda Moksha treatments can be a transformative experience for you and then enables you to share this wonderfully liberating experience with others. The Amnanda Moksha Therapist Training course takes six months to complete, course attendance is once per month to both learn and develop through yours and the group’s experiences of the treatments. The morning sessions will be theory based and the afternoon practical, during which you will both receive and give the oil treatments within the group (previous massage experience or knowledge is not essential). A single potentized herbal oil is used throughout the course and the treatment itself is done with a very light mindful touch; the body is sensitively touched with herbal oil as opposed to being massaged. It is recommended that before training that you receive a Moksha treatment so that you gain an understanding of the treatment. There is a pre-requisite to be an Amnanda Therapist. Only after completion of the course can practice begin.

Indian classical music played by a 5th generation Indian classical music played by a 5th generation master πŸ˜²πŸ˜²πŸ’– 

We were treated in Norwich last night to a wonderful exploration of late evening ragas. Ragas are different melodies that are played at different times of the day to attune the human with the environment via the medium of sound in the context of the musician and audience communicating. There were also solo performances of these incredible instruments. So special.

Listening to live music lights up the brain in similar ways to actually playing music. With the sounds of the tabla, sarod, surbahar and rubab, I could literally feel my nervous system and brain being ignited. Studies show how neurogenesis of the brain occurs and dopamine is released when we engage with music that we really get the feels for.

I would share the recipe but I massively freestyled and have no idea of what quantities went in πŸ˜†πŸ™ƒπŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ will have to repeat another time.

Did you know pistachio nuts are excellent to have before bed to aid sleep? They are packed with magnesium, vit B6 and Tryptophan. You can make a delicious milky drink with them. Just follow my nut milk recipe substituting pistachios for almonds πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ awesome for pacifying vata heads

I always get so excited when wild garlic and asparagus comes into season. I look forward to it for the whole winter. I have been celebrating the wild garlic in lots of cooked ways in the last 2 weeks. However, today with it being 16 degrees here I decided to make a spring slaw, served with new potatoes and garden mint, Norfolk asparagus and falafels πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

1/2 spring cabbage shredded
1 grated carrot 
4 wild garlic leaves and flowers (substitute any other green leaves or herbs)
1/2 lemon juiced
Generous olive oil
1 tbs sunflower seeds 
Unrefined salt and pepper
Handful walnuts

Resetting my spice tin for the spring, keeping warming and digestion supporting spices in there while introducing some green cleansing herbs.

I love my spice tins so much. I actually have two on the go in the kitchen as it is just so easy to add the spices you want quickly when cooking without having to rummage through the cupboards. Spicing food is so important for supporting our Agni / digestive fire #gutmicrobiome and assimilation of food. As well as of course making it taaaaaasty which also supports the above πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ€˜
